Well done to super Sea Saver Poppy for carrying out the 1st #LaybyLitterPick since lockdown.
We haven't been able to do group cleans due to the virus but have been watching the laybys locally and one of the good things about the limited traffic has been there has almost been no litter building up in our laybys. Litter dumped like this mostly ends up spreading through the countryside or even down in the sea below spots like this. Not only does it make the place look horrible and spoil it for others but it also chokes and entangles wildlife.
Sadly since the weekend, there were two bags worth of rubbish dumped in this layby alone. ?
Please, if you are touring the area and enjoying our beautiful environment, either take your rubbish away with you or find a bin or use the dump just north of Ullapool. If there are pieces left about, maybe even help and pick up that too? Thank you.
